HDMI 2.1 48 Gbps speeds?

Post by OnaIp »

Hi Pavel,

Was wondering if you've tested the VanityPro with the highest speed HDMI 2.1 48Gbps spec signals (such as 8K/60p from nVidia graphics cards)? Does it continue to do jitter reduction with the FRL encoding scheme at these speeds? The jitter reduction white paper mentions the older TMDS method.

Thanks!

Hi Onalp,
The short answer is no, we haven't tested anything beyond 4k2k 60Hz. From the specifications perspective I believe The Vanity[sup]PRO[/sup] won't work with FRL or anything beyond 4k, simply because it is "only" HDMI2.0b compliant. Although the HDMI subsystem is software upgradeable, FRL support requires changes in hardware due to different signaling schemes.
Best Regards,
Pavel
