Vanity103HD and PS Audio Direct Stream DAC

Hi all,
As you [url=http://www.audiopraise.com/forum/read.php?11,503]know[/url], there is an alternative firmware that enables the VanityHD to output DSD (SACD playback) in the DoP mode. One of not many DACs on the market that can accept DoP is PS Audio Direct Stream DAC. The Vanity103HD is proven to work fine with this DAC in the DoP mode and this was confirmed directly with PS Audio. I get a brief squeal when the SACD stops. I have alerted PS Audio about it and they are looking into it.
What do you think is happening?

Hi,
I believe it is an interaction of playback mode being changed from DSD to PCM in the Oppo with clock recovery system in the DS. When SACD playback stops the sampling frequency and clock base in the Oppo change which probably disturbs DS and its FIFO. I am only guessing here, let's see what Ted comes with.
